My reaction when I noticed the speed trap.
And clearly knew about VFR’s. That did soften the blow a bit!
First ticket in 10 years. Only my second ticket. I’m... Probably * very* lucky to have been clocked by a motorcycle officer who was clearly an enthusiast. No physical ticket, so I don’t actually know what he wrote it up as or for how much. I guess they just mail them nowadays? Weird.

Huge missed opportunity here. You could have told us how he asked if you were AestheticsInMotion from Oppositelock...

But then he might have ended up in a jail cell lol

I would have said no. Imagine if he saw my scooter shenanigans!

“ Are you AestheticsInMotion?”
“Yes I am.”
“Hoo boy, we’ve got a lot of tickets to send you and a few guys have questions on window washing.”

“Don’t you know who I am?”

Haha! So no SR20-esque stories from you then.

Most sporty riders get dinged for speed at some point. I got mine on the way to work, it was night and wondered why some dink was in my bubble from behind.
2 years ago now, I was still in the noob gear; time flies.
Have to know where the traps are though , then you just have to worry about cruisers.

Ill try to make a long story short...
I got pulled over on the Repsol for going what we shall call “arrest me f ast.” The cop saw my military ID in my wallet and started lecturing me about how service people are stupid on bikes, and he should know because he had a GPZ1100 back when he was in The Corps...
I interrupted him by blurting out that the GPZ was the fastest production bike on the world when it came out. He stopped lecturing me, got that far off look in his eyes, and was like yeah, that was a hell of a bike....
Then we bullshitted for like 20 minutes about bikes. He asked me about mine, I asked for some GPZ stories. He ended up letting me go with a $40 ticket for “ failue to obey a traffic control device.”

My MIL got one recently that was mailed to her as well. Might be COVID, but maybe it’s some kind of paper trail thing. It might have fixed (or made far worse) the freaky weird, expensive, and protracted 12 -year process with the state of Arizona over a bogus ticket ...

I got out of a ticket by having my uniform laying on the back seat once. I also have yet to be bothered since getting DV plates. I was formerly an AT LEAST one ticket a year kind of guy. 3 years without so much as a pull over except last year in my wife’s car. Yeah, I drive a Suburban not a flashy fast fun car , but I still have a lead foot.

It’s too dang easy to speed on a bike. Last night I caught myself doing 55ish in a 35 fir a second. I just wanted to pull through second gear ... I hit the brakes real quick.
My wife is already a bit miffed they my vehicle insurance is now almost double what hers is, and that is where a ticket really hurts you.
